Middle School Students Inducted into National Junior Honor Society
Nine eighth-grade members of the Penn Wood Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society pledged 38 new inductees into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on March 10, 2010. Mr. Joseph Bruni, Superintendent of the William Penn School District, was Guest Speaker at the ceremony. Penn Wood Middle School guidance counselor, Ms. Tamika Bennett, serves as NJHS Advisor. Mrs. Alison Morett, Coordinator of the Gifted Program, is NJHS Assistant Advisor.
The National Junior Honor Society was established in 1929 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Students are selected for NJHS membership based on outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and character.
