Penn Wood Student Selected for Hero All-Star Game

William "Will" Brown, Penn Wood High School senior and member of the Boys' Basketball PIAA AAAA State Silver Medal Team, was selected to play in the First Annual Delaware County Hero Scholarship Basketball Game on April 9, 2010 at Cardinal O'Hara High School. Will scored 19 points in the game, which included four 3-point field goals.

Fifty players from 28 public, parochial, and private high schools in Delaware County were selected. Police officers or members of police families served as referees for the games. Proceeds from the game help to support the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County that provides educational scholarships for children of police, fire fighters, and emergency medical personnel who die in the line of duty.
